Formulation of remedial fluids with bioactive phytonutrients is one of the specialties of Herbap Biotech. Many years of multidisciplinary studies in phytomedicine, biochemistry and physiology enable us to become a specialist in the practical application of phytonutrients, particularly in Hong Kong. In particular, our phytonutrient-based remedial fluids are formulated for the management of fibroproliferative disorders (e.g. hypertrophic scars and keloids) and associated infections of the skin.
We have extracted a series of active small-molecule constituents from various plant materials, which possess potent anti-fibroproliferative and antimicrobial properties, as well as distinctive advantages in tissue penetration, compound stability, consumption flexibility, structural simplicity for production and low manufacturing cost. Moreover, we had been granted patents on the usage of these small molecules on the suppression of activated skin myofibroblasts and fibrogenic mediators as well as the growth of dermatophytes and other contagious microbes.
Explicitly, the remedial approach of our phytonutrient fluids is cell type-oriented and microbio-specific, which is outstanding in today’s market. The easy adoption, convenience of use and non-invasiveness of our phytonutrient fluids help sufferers remove raised cellular marks and ease microbial infections in the comfort of their home.
According to the findings of ours and others, the perpetual activation of myofibroblasts is prerequisite for the development of fibrosis and the consequent scar formation in tissues. In our studies, we found that a series of plant-derived flavanol glycosides are specifically effective in suppressing the activation of skin myofibroblasts and the production of related fibrogenic ECM mediators. Importantly, these flavanol glycosides are small molecules and thus they have the distinctive advantage in effective penetration through the skin.
In order to combat dermatophytosis, we found that dihydro-stilbenoids, which are compounds composed of a general C6-C2-C6 structure, significant impede the growth of filamentous fungi, namely Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton mentagraphyte, and some common pathogenic bacteria, such as Streptococcus mutans and Streptococcus sobrinus. Thus, dihydro-stilbenoids are decent antimicrobial agents. Again, these stilbenoids are small molecules, they have the distinctive advantage in effective penetration through the skin.
